View Full Version : MP3 HU gives me Headache

Ok.... I am about to raise my white flag for the built-in MP3 HU in my C4.

I tried using Nero to burn my CDs, but it didn't work on the HU. When I went to Citroen and ask them to try out using their disc... CAN! I ask them which software they use... but the Service Manager was unsure.

Can someone tell me which software I can use to trial n error my own. Is there any specific settings I need to take note?

Now I am prepared to waste tons of CDRs to try out..... really determine to find out a solution for it......

What brand of cdr media are you using?

Try using the Disk At Once (DAO) method in your burning software

I am using those mama brand CDR from Sim Lim. Even bought the black surface kind, but still doesn't work.

Tried Disk-at-once as well.... But no luck.

I am beginning to doubt if the player can play mp3. Gonna go back to AA and ask what is happenning....

Can easily say they mis-interpreted the features and ask for replacement. Or they had deliver the wrong stuff to me. But even if they willing to replace an aftermarket unit, I am not keen to do that. Cos some features on the display and steering control is gonna go.....

Check with them if the player is CD-R/RW compatible

i know for sure its CDR compatible. If not how to be mp3 playable. Don't think there is any legal MP3 disc/album in the maket.

As for CDRW, the service manager told me its not compatible. Which I had tried it b4 also.

Another thing is, I also send my problem to Citroen main site. Seems like they are not very helpful, all I wanted was to check the make and model, but they tai chi me again to seek local agent help.... KNN.....

Just went for my 1st 1.5k servicing at AA. At the same time, also ask them to check my HU about the MP3 function.

To my horror they say mine doesn't come with MP3 function. To think that I have been cracking my head to solve this stupid thingy.....

Horror soon turns into disappointment and anger. Approach the service manager and told to go merry go round back to my sales guy. Sales guy not in SG, so look for his boss. Supposingly someone who can give me a reasonable answer and solution to the wrong delivery of goods. But he brushed me off saying that they have no control in the delivery of the car. So who the hell I should look for??? As a sales person selling the product, promising something that you don't eventually deliver is none of your Biz? I don't blame the sales guy that sold this car to me, cos he was also made to believe that the car comes with that feature.

I am greatly disturbed by the attitude of the Sales Manager's attitude towards handling my queries. You can't just say you don't know and let the case rest. He mentioned that I wasn't the only one who complained about the missing MP3 function. If that's the case, why were we not informed, not to say compensated. Even if compensation is in place, I am not ready to take it up.... I want my MP3! Getting a aftermarket HU is not easy for my C4. Will need to find 1 which is compatible is difficult.

I asked for the MD's contact and prepared to write to him directly... Again, he say he don't have (or don't know his email add). How can that be??? He simply gave me a common email add to write to..... Or better still, he asked me to write to France instead. If that's the case, why do we need you sole agent for?????

I am not prepare to let the issue die of natural cause though its a simple function. I am a sales person myself and I make sure I deliver what I promise, if not provide alternatives.... But their attitude is just unacceptable....

In my email to the MD, I mentioned that I am prepared to go to CASE if they do not provide me with a solution or alternative. Its a case of not delivering the correct order as stated in the sales agreement.

I am pretty fired up with their attitude in handling complains.

Perhaps its good that they are giving up the distribution rights to some better players.

*NOTE* anyone know the direct email to the MD? I wanna write to him directly just in case the email to the common email add was 'overlooked'

Ha... I tried that already.... Seems like the French knows how to play Tai Chi also.... ask me to refer back to the agent..... :( :( :(

Giving you guys an update of the outcome of my HU problem.

Indeed, the original unit does not come with MP3 function. And after making so much noise to the management, they got the necessary cables (not change the entire unit, how easy) from France to fix it for me.

i am not sure what they fix into my car, but I saw them bringing along cables only to fix my car.

At the end of the day, this is what I want.... not playing tai chee and not putting blame on god's will. Admit the mistake and get it fix is what ultimately I wanted.

Great!.... Now I gotta find all my MP3 disc.....
