Finally booked the Grand Picasso this afternoon.
Leap of faith even though many people warn against bad resales value, possible high maintenance and potential reliability issues.
Waiting for delivery in August...
Hope to learn from everyone in the forum. :)

Hi spidy
welcome too!
to be honest, the comments are valid, to a certain extent. The resale value will be bad. You def cant compare it with the resale value of, say, Honda. Reliability wise, my experience tells me that jap cars are generally more reliable, at least for my previous jap cars. But yet i bought a citroen, after factoring for all these points. As Robin Williams said in Dead Poets Society, I like to 'seize the day', and live life without regretting that i never get to own a car that i have been admiring since young. Full excerpt below for your reading pleasure. Lean in, listen...Cheers!
"They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary."

That film was very instrumental in shaping my philosophy in life, and in my attitude towards teaching as a noble career choice :-)

yup, it was a very powerful film for me. None has ever touched me the way this film has. (ok perhaps except for wrestlemania...)
It subliminally shaped my philosophy in life and prob my career too, and am now teaching my children to be likewise. (my daytime job is helping people to learn how to fish for themselves)

Hey spidy, welcome to Citroen community, especially C4GP!
High maintenance and reliability issues - so far I have experienced none of it. 3 maintenance routines and I have not paid for anything yet!
Resale value - Hmmm... it's personal. For me, resale value was not my consideration. Not that I am wealthy but for me, like what other posts say - 'seize the day'! I will be miserable, having to drive a car day-in and day-out which is not exactly my heart's desire but have good resale value.
I think your hearts overrule your head when you made the leap of faith! Just like me!

wow...I hope you guys enjoyed the show as much as some of us here. I still remember vividly the suicide of one of the kids in the movie. Pretty shocking for me at that time as i was still young. It really shaped my philosophy in life, like Voyager and prob others as well.
Many of us Singaporean parents try to dictate the lives of our children, either subconsciously or consciously, without giving a hoot about the kids' own interests. At my son's K2 graduation ceremony last year, one kid even said that she wanted to be a doctor in future to earn big bucks. This kind of warped thinking must be infused in her from young by the parents. goodness...:(
I try my best to let my children do what they enjoy (within limits of course) and would not force them to pick up stuff they wouldnt enjoy (I let my son drop swimming as he wasnt enjoying it, but will prob try again this year as it's an essential life skill), and I am blessed that my parents also did not force me to be like Mr Jones' sons. I did turn out pretty ok. Hahah!
Suck the marrow out of life! cheers.
Forsei: Thanks for the invite to start a new discussion thread. However, I wouldnt want to discuss or give generic advice in this area over a public forum, as I believe every individual is different; each has its own issues/hurdles to overcome and thus its road maps. I work more with the less privileged in life, as I think they need a little more help. You guys dun need it! :D
