Hello everybody, I am Janiel and I just booked a C4GP last evening. It was a choice between the C4 and 5008; after test driving both and comparing the features, including costing. C4 got my vote and I am containing my excitement as I await it's delivery.

To fellows in this community, thank u ahead for ur sharing, advise n interactions

leinaj,
care to share your experience with the 5008? I've seen a few on the roads recently, and I must say that looks-wise, it's not superior to the C4GP, despite being much newer. But I'm sure its strengths must lie somewhere else... interior? price?
Look forward to hearing your comments on it :)

Hi bigdaddy. What I share may just be my own perspective and many may think otherwise. I feel that 5008 lacks features when comparing to C4GP. C4GP offers a variety of storage solutions, build-in features like the sun shades, bluetooth etc. Feel wise, the mechanism on the 5008 feels and sounds raw. Example when keeping the third row, it sounded very raw when comparing to a smoother storage actions for C4GP. I must agree that engine wise, the 5008 seem smoother but I guess C4GP was designed with other considerations to how the engine gearbox will behave. Somehow, it just lack in the luxury feel in finishing. IMHO

I've also testdrived 5008 before choosing C4GP. The only thing i like 5008 is its smooth 6AT gearbox. interior design and space confirm C4GP is better.. IMO, 5008's listed price is a killer compared with C4GP. Btw, I'm comparing luxury edition of 5008 with C4GP. The basic edition of 5008 is without sunroof and cruise control.

must apologise for my ignorance, the c4gp still has not gotten the 6at?

anyway, welcome Leinaj to Citroenchat!
if the price diff is significant, then the choice is obvious.
exteriorly, the 5008 is like hohum...whilst the c4gp looks great and curvaceous.
can't comment further as i've not sat in nor driven 5008

no it's not, Leinaj,

it's a semi-automatic transmission called EGS.

it's a manual gearbox with an automated clutch.

Hi all, learned about this forum from a colleague who just got his C4 coupe. Browse the site last night and registered this morning.

I am currently considering to get the C4GP. Tested it and the 5008 last weekend. Beside having a smoother drive as it is a full automatic car, 5008 cannot compete with the C4GP. C4GP wins in looks and features, as well as price.

Hope the COE bidding today will not change the car price this weekend.

Hi Leoray, guess we both made the decision on the same weekend. COE bidding successful for you?

Just curious how much the GP is selling for now. Do you need to top up given the rise in COE prices?

It was going for $128.988 and at that time in purchase I was told that the price is fixed until after the COE bid.

Mine's the 4at.
The egs is a little trickier for some (eg me) but others seem to have no problems with it. guess it's takes a little getting used to, for smoothness.
Wonder when will the c4gp will be fitted with the 6at.

Leoray, take ur time though...how much is the 5008 going for? curious

hi theory 87,
as in 20-30k diff in pricing?
tt's v significant...
it's quite a no brainer then ... which to choose...

Yup. Even 3008 cost more than $15k than C4GP

indeed, those were the pricing that "helped" in decisions too

Madcat

err. those are before the COE bidding right? The latest pricing updated in sgcarmart is that C4GP 136K and 5008 luxury 138K. Duno why the price of C4GP increase by so much.

I just checked my folders ... before the recent COE bid results, I was given the following quotations:

- C4GP $128,988
- 5008 $135,900
- 3008 $132,900

Leoray

Forsei, the price difference between C4GP and 5008 is 7k. 5008 higher. I was quoted 126988 and 133988. This is 2 weekend ago pricing before last COE bidding. Post COE, C4GP increased to 133988, hence not changing car for now:(

Looks like Autofrance is trying to absorb all the COE increment. The price different is now very close.

C5 seems like a steal now.

Am now thinking if I shld select the black or brown colour leather upholstery. What would be a better choice?
