Hi Guys,
Finally I've collected my new Citroën C5 yesterday. The ride is extremely nice and comfortable. However it seems to have slight vibration noise when you come to a stop at traffic light. Not too sure if that is normal. Glad to know that there's another Citroën C5 owner in the same carpark. Will be installing 3M Crytallize Clear solar film next week. ;)

hello Zuzaini,
from where does the noise seem to be coming from?
are you in 'D' or 'N' when the vibration occurs?

The vibration seems to be coming from the dashboard when the gear is in "D".

i actually have a slight vibration too, but it has happened only after i sent the car in for the recall to change the wiper motor.

Looks like I'm monitor the vibration over a month period. I saw that the test C5 car comes with the optional 2 chrome exhaust pipes and it really looks quite nice but I'm not sure if 1k price is worth the upgrade. Any comments?

it took me more than a year to make the decision about the exhaust tips, and i honestly don't have any regrets.
they really do lift the car :-) (visually)
my slight vibration is when the engine is idling or at very low revs, regardless of gear.
i'm likely not going to do anything about it :P

Hi Zuzaini,
I do not have the vibration problem, but when I stop behind another vehicle, I noticed that my headlights flicker a lot. Do u have this problem? As for the chrome exhaust, I am unlikely to do it although I find it very nice.

my headlamps flicker too :-P
they don't really flicker, they kind of betray a fair degree of vibration (ie, their throw is not a steady cast ahead).
it's not flickering in the sense of variations in lux intensity.

I can still live with the flickering but when u mentioned variations in lux intensity, do u mean that the brighness is not consistent? If that the case, isn't it a kind of defect? When I was driving the stream rsz, I didnt notice this kind of issue in the HID.

that's why i said, it's NOT variations in lux intensity :-)

Yes noticed the headlight issue too. I think it could be due to the vibration and not really due to flickering

Finally I've done up my C5 with solar windscreen using 3M Crystalline Clear at DS Specialty Services. Total cost of it is $900 nett.

Hi Bro Voyager,
You mention a wiper motor recall. I did not receive any notification from them, is it serious?
Thanks

you are alert!
best to check with them directly - make sure they have updated their record to match your license plate with your address.
then book an appointment - it's done quite quickly.
(i would not know the seriousness of the problem that prompted the recall. however, seeing that we get more rain in the tropics, i think better err on the side of caution)

Hi bro,
Thanks for the tip.
Talking about record update. 1-2 weeks ago, i received a call from C&C folks out of the blue, the lady called to update/verify my records. She is able to read back to me all my personal particular correctly. That why i was surprise how come she did not take the opportunity to inform me about the recall.
Will dial them on coming monday to confirm whether i need to send it back.
Thank again
You can check the EVRS from One.Motoring. I checked my but no such recall being registered in the system.
I did a warranty claim and my wiper motor was replaced early 2010.

Hi bro,
Thanks for the tip. I dial up Citroen this morning, gave them my car plate number and they say mine no need to recall back to fix the wiper motor.

Morning!
This is what I found out:
1) The C5 does vibrate slightly when idle at 'D' at traffic light (with the brake pedal engaged). (I'm guessing it's the characteristic of the PSA engine)
2) The headlights housing does vibrate (probably due to what's happening in (1)).
3) I also noticed that the brakes are a little spongy. (Maybe the car is too heavy?) I need to step harder and extend my leg longer to achieve effective braking as compared to other cars I drove.
Yes noticed the headlight issue too. I think it could be due to the vibration and not really due to flickering
