C5 3.0 V6 versus C5 1.6THP

I took a test drive in the C5 1.6THP before deciding on downsizing to the DS3 1.6THP. On paper the 3.0 V6 engine has better specs, but I can tell you that the 1.6THP in the C5 body is very impressive. Much faster throttle response, much better torque delivery. Which would be expected since max torque is available from around 1400rpm.

When I decided to give Citroen a second chance I traded in my Saab 9-5 Aero for the C5. At the time the only engines available were the 2.0 and 3.0 engines. The choice was therefore obvious. I never expected the same kind of performance of course.

Now that I have decided that smaller is better, the DS3 1.6THP is going to be such a pleasure to drive.

The 1.6 THP engine is quite good and on the lighter body of the DS3 should give the Cooper S some real competition at a much lower price. This same engine can be tuned to 175hp and up too 200hp. There was (is?) a Pug 308 175THP previously.

I just got my 508 which is slightly lighter than the C5. Quite happy with its performance.

Replaced wheels from 17" to 18". Spend weeks looking for a tyre shop (Soon Tyres) that will support Peugeot wheel upgrade. I now have 18" forged rims on Michilen PS3. Couldn't upload pictures.
