Hi Guys,

Had my C4gp kraynos for almost 3 weeks now. Before this, I had my trusted Toyota Wish for 7 years. Practically a good and reliable car. That's why our road is flooded with them now. But I want something more with almost the same price. That's why i got the C4gp.

Before this, we went down and did a check on the 7 seater Terios but the SE gave me a ridiculous trade in price. Other than that, just browse thru in the web for other brands. Didn't see any to my liking since they have all the same interior design. Didn't really thought of changing the ride now since the COE are on the high side. Juz browsing thru ( for mths) and see for any options...so I thought.

See the C4gp in the web, looks interesting and when down to the showroom with wife and 2 kids in tow. And this is where the most pleasant mistake I've made.hehehe

Unlike Terios, the C4gp really looks more impressive than the pictures in my laptop. The luxury features are absolutely fabulous. Whatever reservations abt conti cars that i had in my head are all were thrown out of the window juz by being in that car.

My wife loves it and so are the kids. They gave me a very good deal with my old ride. And not forgetting the SE who attended me, he's good. The deal was sealed.:D

Honestly speaking, I received the car with mixed feeling since it's a conti car.
From where i come from..jap cars rule! Since Jap cars is a safe bet (esp. toyota)hehehehe

After almost 3 weeks of driving, the gearbox change are jerky and getting better/getting used to it. The suspensions are a bit soft during cornering and hitting the potholes. But all that are nothing when i starts driving the highways. The engine are refine, and very quiet. Coupled that with the airy cabins and glass views..liked my wife's friend said.."like travelling in a business class."

Overall, Eventhough the FC is not good as Toyota Wish (esp. the newer models) and the reliablity is still uncertain ( my personal feeling) but the driving pleasure is priceless!

Ps : Have to thank this forum folks for the honest tips and views for making my decisions easier!(did a lot of reading before heading down to the showroom). Hope this msg do help the future decision makers a hand too.

U welcome Voyager...juz feels like giving back something to this forum.

Thanx Leinaj...we do have something in common. Both our last ride was a Toyota Wish. So what makes you the switch, if u don't mind me asking?

Hi RoyceC....hehehe. I'm not trying to promote the C4gp or exaggarating things. Juz writing down what other ppl think of the ride. Anyway, Most of are friends are impressed by the interiors. And at one time,I juz let the car do the talking when they asked me why a conti car ( before they take a look at it).

Coming back to my wife's friend comment, Maybe she meant it. Since she had taken a ride in my toyota Wish long before riding my C4gp. Btw, she was not aware of a Citroen existence eventhough they own a car themselves!hahahaha

Hi Isali

Just be prepare to pay a slight higher maintenance/spare parts for conti rides.

I myself from Daewoo to Opel to Hyundai and now, back to Conti Citroen.

I gone thru the pain paying extra for the maintenance and parts for conti rides....but eventually, i still prefer conti rides...

cheers

Great to receive good feedback from new owners... I had some colleagues who said they felt they are travelling on a coach bus or helicopter! Hahaha....

I have no regrets getting the C4GP. Welcome to the family...

Hi Yap18,

Thanx for the grimm reminder...actually it really doesn't occurs to me to get a conti since i'm fully aware of the extra cost of owning one. Hopefully, it is not as bad as what ppl are saying abt it. (try telling them the cost and the lifespan of the battery and i'm sure they'll be totally freaking out. I know i did!hehehe) And for myself, i'm coming out of my comfort zone to discover one of the better things in life. Wish me luck!

Btw, why the big switch from a conti to a korean car esp. Trajet when it is a well known fact it is a fuel guzzler?

Hi Ram Ram,

Thanx for the warmth welcome. And i thought my wife's friend is exaggarating!hehehehe

I reserved my regret feelings for now since i'm into the road of discovery. Hopefully it's not too financially painful one.

Btw...did saw 2 C4gpes this morning. 1 is parked a few metres to mine and another on the opposite side of the road. Saw a middle aged taxi driver (his taxi parked behind my ride) trying to get a glimpse of the interior while i'm walking towards it) what a beautiful morning sight it is!hehehe

Switch from opel to trajet bcos of the size..and my trajet is not really fuel guzzler cos i am getting around 9km/ltr which i feel ok for this size....of cos...no power..

Hi Isali

congrats! Get used to the attention.

When i was driving the courtesy car C5, i got people staring at the car when stationery(and they were not admiring my looks lor).

For the picasso, i have had a petrol attendant chatting me up on the car. PRC chap who knows more about citroens than many locals.

Sorry, me not a fan of Toyotas, so wont go much into comparing the two. Main thing i wanna highlight will be to try not to compare jap cars and conti cars, esp for FC and reliability. Otherwise, u will prob be smacking yourself. :) Just enjoy the drive and have faith. It's not a bad car. I hardly have any problems with it (i only sent it in twice, once for cosmetic reasons, purely hiao; the other for a leaking water pump). Service center staff is excellent, in my opinion.

Hi Flee19,

Thanx for the encouragement. I know it's not fair comparing to Toyota. Can't help it since i had a long affair with them.

3 weeks with the car and so far so good. The whole family and I enjoys the ride!

Been to Shanghai couple of years back ( work related), and to my surprised majority of them are using conti cars esp. Volkswagen . U can see them alot on their roads esp. taxi's.Maybe that's the reason why the PRC chap knows alot more than us here.Kinda ironic isn't it?

Hi Isali,
Welcome. I too, like yap18 owned a Trajet (for 5 years) before switching to my current ride.
At first, my wife told me she was worried that the C4GP 1.6 engine might be under power with full load (7 pax). But I, or should I say my ride has proved her wrong. It is even my powerful than my previous 2 litre Trajet with full load.
Attention seeking is definitely one of the characteristics of this car. I have encountered a family who own an Odyssey, came over to ask about my car at a carpark.
Also at my multi-storey carpark, I have seen 2 families who have just bought the Malaysia-made MPV (forgotten the name) peeping into my car whenever I parked beside theirs. I guess they might have regretted their choice. HeHeHeee.

Hi Ron guy,

Looking at the C4Gp's steering wheel itself can make them go gaga!
Let alone the panaromic view and the glass top. Definitely they'll keep peeping for more. Hopefully, there will be more C4Gp on the road in the near future! But not too many though until even the taxis are using it too!

PS : Any chances they'll be using C4GP as a taxi?hehehe

Hard to say. So far, I have seen conti cars such as Opel, VW, Skoda and Merc used as taxis in Singapore. Maybe Peugeot would be next.
