stupid truck no brake lights on PIE this morning.
was in Lane 2 of the PIE towards Changi, just after entrance ramp from BKE.
i was behind this big open-deck truck (not a pickup, bigger than that).
needless to say i couldn't see anything ahead of him.
sardenly i realised that the distance between our two vehicles was closing very very fast.
so i braked hard, (not jam brake), at the same time looking in my rear view mirror.
good calibration of the EBA, the system did not activate (thank God otherwise would have been banged from behind by a blue Jazz).
but to my surprise the automatic activation of the hazards came on. i thought the hazards would only be activated when EBA is activated, so now i know the systems use independent sets of parameters.
i stopped following that stupid truck after that.
if i had been driving new S80, there would have been a big red LED thrown up on the HUD.
if i had been driving new S-class, my brake lamps would have started to flash very fast.
but, no S80, no S-class. good thing the Jazz driver was alert and saw my hazards.
