October issue of 'Car' magazine, on page 74 onwards, has an article reminiscing about the DS.
those of you young ones, no harm having a look at what things were like in the 1960s :-)
just how far ahead of its time the DS was, complete with swivelling headlamps, hydropneumatic suspension and front wheel drive :-)
One of my uncles had a later model in the early 70s. True, no way for a toddler to appreciate it then. ;) Think it looks very similar to this one: http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=10114.

well-written article - thank you for sharing it :-)
it's very true that part about,
when people try to race with you (no doubt their straight-line smooth-road performance / acceleration is superior to ours), but all we have to do is wait for the road to get rough / bumpy / variably cambered, and then we see them receding in our mirrors from our flying carpet.
:-P

Yup, I've had a friend who used to drive a xantia (I think)... he flew past an evo (who was edging him for a race) over a speed hump... I guess the look on the evo driver's face was ...well, priceless... :D
