Anyone experience creaking noise that seems to be due to the suspension when there are more than 3 people in the car and someone gets on or off the car? Not sure if it only happens when the car's hand brake is pulled.

For a 3 month old C3, I can't believe that the suspensions are already starting to creak..

hello Tigger Bee,

sorry for the delayed response, i have been spending the past few days thinking about your post.

it could be (as you surmise) your brakes, and not your suspension arms.

(ie, the pads against the discs on a (not-completely applied) foot-braked-while-the-car-is-in-'D' scenario)

try having someone get in and out of the car with the gearbox in 'N' and the handbrake fully pulled (foot off the brake)

see if this helps?

Hi Tigger Bee,
Don't worry, it's normal. And as voyager had mentioned, it's actually the brake system thats causing these noise. You can also try stepping on the brake without applying the handbrake, and get pp to get in & out of the car. It should also make those noises.
I had been listening to these noises for the pass almost 4 years. And there is no issue with my braking system up to 2day, "touch wood".
Hope this help :-)
Ohh, mine is a 2007 C3.

Hello,
i tot i have that issue too. try this to see whats causing the creek.
Test if its due to Suspension
I will got to the rear wheel and apply pressure directly above the wheel by pressing down. There should not be any sound. And FYI a healthy suspension should come back up with minimal bounce.(that means it does not move up and down like a loose spring)

Test if its due to hand brake/ rear brake.
I will push the vehicle front/back when the hand brakes are applied. This is where my C4 will creek therefore i deduced that its due to the brakes.

I think the solution is to apply a braking oil/lub on the disc and pads which is usually does during replacement.
Hope these helps!

You're kidding ! if you apply lub on your disc, sure you'll not heard creaks, but a big BAM when you crashed your car !
Never apply nothing on discs or pad !!!!
Seriously if you heard creaks or noise when you passed through a hole or a pad, very often the culprit is a small elastic rim, in the upper part of shocks absorber, et the place the head of absorbers is fastened
Sorry I'm not sure about the english word, I guess turrett is good
So, after 80000 kms (depend of the use of car) you COULD partially destroyed a part of these rim, but they are absolutely no danger to go away.....
By the way if you works on your absorbers, you must be very very cautious, especially if you depressed it......in case not, you could change also your teeths !

the grease is placed behind the pads, not on the friction surface... gosh!

please leave such stuff to pros (not referring to me k?)

Hi guys,

Thanks for the all the advices. Will test out this weekend just to confirm it's not the suspension but the brakes.

Hello all...
that right im not pro. :p
reason i said that was i saw it on tv...
if im not wrong its was on wheeler dealers and they happen to be changing the entire braking system on a WRX. so at the point where ed china was fixing the disc brakes to the calipers, the used a spray on it. and i remember quite clearly that he commented that it was to stop the brakes from squeeking.

found the video, see 4min 50sec

he spary disc clearner on the disc and some copper greese on some unknow part.
