View Full Version : DIY Battery Replacement
Hello,
Saw the compact location of the battery.
Could not figure how to remove, in case urgent replacement is required on the road.
It is block at the top as well as the front access.
So anyone have tried removing cover and replacing battery? :-[
Have not tried it, dun plan to DIY due to exactly what you've described. :)
BTW, you might want to be aware of this 'procedure' for citroen cars -> http://www.citroenchat.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=baa8fc1c9afe50b9b1e598796b97d6 0f&topic=211.0
Thanks for the posting advise.
DIY is necessary simply when you are at some location where our battery kaput.
You will have to replace the battery and then later go back to CCF and have all the original setting reverted.
Otherwise this would be a very strange car, where even a change of battery will required a towing and maybe to CCF from, where ever we are.
Rgds.

welcome to strange cars :D
Point to note:
do not let the car be totally powerless/batter-less, the ECU /immobilizer may lose its settings requiring you to re-initalize. And if you or the emergency rescue vehicle does not know the re-init steps, u will end up towing coz the car will not let you start. ( my personal experience with the sensodrive gearbox)
advise to note
1) jump start the car and let CCf handle and bug them to let u 'learn' the steps.
2) connect a standby battery while u change out the old batt
3) find out the required sequence to re-init the car after yur DIY batt change
4) I have tried a few times n now am sending the car back for a gearbox ecu change :o

I had my batt went flat once with my C4. Tried to jump start, but cannot, I juz duno y..... In the end, have to tow back to the previous AA.
Recently, my less than 1yr batt after the previous changed have difficulty crank up, panic cos I dun have the new emergency number. Called CC and got the number and at the same time ask them if the batt was changed under 1yr, is it under warranty? Was told no more!!!
My understanding whenever you got your batt changed, its 1yr warranty. But was told the 1 yr warranty is from the day the car was delivered.... Someone shed some light pls....

batt 1 yr warranty is from manufacturer (normally)
Agent 'car' warranty is from the day they hand over the car to you.
If you wana be persistent, do check out the batt manufacturer's warranty period, however, they normally cover manufacturing faults, not the normal wear n tear n sulphation
