Hi bro,

Buying a 2nd hand car regardless of make & model alsway pose a risk beco you do not know the history of the car.

If you are buying directly from the owner, i suggest you request the owner to provide full maintenance record history. If he/she say lose the receipt but got do the service at C&C, then you can tell him/her to go C&C to request them to print out all the servicing history.

If you are buying from dealer then most likely will not have all these servicing record. (On a separate note. once again it proof that it is meaningless to over maintenace a car if you are not going to drive it to 10 year & beyond as dealer who buy back car are seriously not interest in servicing history & will also not pay a single cent more for a car that have full servicing record)

Last but not least, alsway insist that you want to send the car to one of those shop that do independent car evaluation. For example STA.

Alsways have an understanding with the owner/dealer (put down in black & white) that IF the grading is A or B, you will buy the car & also pay for the evaluation fee. If the grading is C or below, you will have the option to buy the car and they will need to pay for the evaluation fee.

The above are the least that you can do to reduce the chance of buying a shitty 2nd hand car.

Last but not least, you need to manage your own expectation too. Wat i mean is that since you know this is a 2nd hand car and is abt 2-3 year old liao, you should expect that it come with a reasonable amt of wear & tear. Manage your expectation well will goes a long way to ensure that you will feel satisfy with your purchase in the future.

Oh ya, dun forget to bring along your family. Do listen to their comment especially your babe's comment.
