Hi all,

After many months of looking around for a few months, I intend to place an order for a new car tomorrow. However I am undecided if I should go for the C5 or the 407 2.2.

My wife prefers the 407 looks /interior and it comes with rear aircon vents and she finds the C5 interior a bit dated. I personally prefer the C5 because of its unique suspension and built in park sensors. Also the price of the C5 is about $11K cheaper than the 407 2.2.

I tried the VW Passat as well and it was a good drive but I still prefer the French ride..............

I really need someone to give me sone good advice on this.................Cheers and have a good weekend!

Although same family... I still prefer C5 given the choice. :P

I like the technology... wife likes the sensors, especially for parallel parking... :P

...but of course, with technology, comes its problems... but I'm quite happy as it is minor glitches which C&C have been very good at supporting....

i can't really add much to what's already been said - bearing in mind we might not necessarily be the most objective people to seek opinions from :-)

for me, because i had already owned a C5, i was quite prepared to get a 407 (because i do agree it's more of a head-turner, at least from the front). in fact i was going to sign on the dotted line until my mom persuaded me to do a back-to-back test-drive of the two.

once i re-experienced the hydropneumatic ride, my mind was made up :-P

thank you for updating us, and best wishes :-)

oh yes. if you are in not too much of a hurry (i think you are, though), the 407 might be due for a facelift soon, especially bearing in mind the imminent release of the Laguna, and the C5 later in Europe (September debut, March European sale date).

One more thing to consider. If your play golf, compare the boot size of the 407 and C5. The boot of the 407 is tight.
Tell you wife if she plays golf to consider this or if she need to carry bulky items, the C5 is definitely better.
I considered both, but end up buying a Renault Laguna.
How about tossing a coin????

not sure if c5 got engine oil temp, i noe 407 got

suspension wise i believe 407 should handle more "sportily" and confidentally while c5 more comfy

407 boot i find quite big already

consider also the servicing and aftersales from both parties
