Lately once the sun is out, my poor Hazelnut standing solidarity by itself hapless as can be, unable to siam the 2 squadrons from the RSAF (Royal Singapore Avian Forces). Squadron 1 will be the sleek black yellow beaked noisy fighter, occasion drop load is negligible, Squadron 2 the white grey fat assed bomber that is the killer. Seems like their accuracy is quite spot on because the splat pattern can visible in almost every part of the GP. If I am lucky, they bring along some cherry like seedings, otherwise it is always the white-yellow-green oil pastel. On a daily basis, I m hit 3-4 times. If I leave it be, I can start my our Avian Pastel Colours in due time.
Now my question would be:
1) have any one try putting a picture of the Eagle/Hawk on the Roof top to do a scarecrow tactic? Any success coz I am very tempted to do so.
2) Any other Anti-Air or surface to Air Projectile Missile Shield I can deploy?
3) has any one employed the services of the Indian Car Washers that are ever present in all the car parks of Singapore. How much is the standard charge? What is their frequency of cleaning?
4) any adverse effect on our paint job if I choose to employ the ICW?
Any Le French resistance corp successful repelled the aerial oppressors?
Thank you, all reconnaissance efforts is appreciated. :)

Hi Tommy,
Yes, open-air carpark sure give you all these headaches. I used to park at open-air carpark during my park-and-ride days too. I used a canvas cover to protect my car though it was a bit troublesome when putting on and removing the cover especially after heavy rain and it was all wet.

Hahaha... think you are suitable to be commander of this SAM division. Anyway, to answer your questions.
1. Conversely, you may attract a female eagle or hawk.
2. Don't think LTA will approve.
3. There are a lot of owners using them at where I stay. Although they are better than they were 10 - 15 years ago, they still use 1 x barrel for 1 x carpark of cars. Expect complimentary signatures from the groomers in the form of swirl marks. Worse on your color.
4. Best is do pps. At least if you forget to clean it off, it will just damage the pps and not the clear coat.

Haha. I do get some of these attacks too, but not on a daily basis like yours. Looks like the Western squadron is not so active compared to the Eastern squadron.
I ever read that the air squadrons are somewhat more attracted to drop their bombs on white/light color car tops for one reason or other. If this is true, painting your car top to black may help.. hehe..
I keep some alcohol-free wet tissue in the car to wipe away the aftermath of the attacks. These must be wiped off as soon as you can coz the bombs contain acidic compounds that can trigger a secondary attack on the car's paint. Like Colin said, the best is to do PPS. But anyhow still best to wipe away asap when you see those splat, even if you have PPS.
I think the ICW is charging $40 per month now. Their price also got tag to inflation.. Frequency of cleaning is at least three days during the week days.

Colin thanks for the kind advise.
Yucks the idea of 1 x barrel per car park. Whose car comes after mine would have a free Protein Coating for sure :)
Guess PPS is the way to go then.
I think it is likely to have after I am back from the Northern medical runs.
Thanks :)

Vinz thanks for the intel on ICW. after hearing from Colin it gives me the chills to think that our ride would be cleaner if it is left alone :)
It's not the Eastern Squadron as my ride parks under shelter. It's the Northern Squadron where I parked in open space car parks. It's a bird paradise there.
I have see mynahs, pigeons, parakeets, burong kuku, putehs, swiftlets, lorikeets, Sparrows, egrets, herons etc
Somehow these birds love to fly over my car. I think our GP not only attracts kids, it also attracts the birdies to take a look. I suspect when they saw the moonroof, they thot they found a huge mirror so that they were busy checking out their bird butts and accidentally discharge in excitement :D

Hi Tommy,
Even if you are on PPS, don't leave the bird shits overnight on your car. Some might leave faint yellowish patches which are difficult to clean off (don't know what stuff they have eaten). I have to go through a few car wash to get the stain off once. I always clean them off with wet tissue after that. Don't use dry tissue especially if the shits happen to get onto the lights surface. My rear lights plastic surface got mulitple scratches now because my wife tried to use dry tissue to rub off the dried shits.

Thanks for the advice Keith.
I normally will clean it off whenever I detect them.
Unfortunately they always strike when I am away :(
By the time I clean it is already sunbaked condition. That's why I am worried.

For wet tissues, use alcohol-free ones like Vince did. Some Watsons wet tissues are alcohol-based so they may damage the paintwork.

Same with mine. Dried up in less than 2 months.
Anyway, I use alcohol-free baby wipes now. If they are good enough for your baby's bottom, they are good enough for the car. :)
