Hi, I visited your workshop at Toh Tuck today. First of all, your mechanics lack experience. When I mentioned I have a boot wiring harness wear and tear leading to the loss of third brake light and wiper function, your staff dismissed it as wiper motor problem and instead offered to replace the third brake light at a ridiculous cost when the problem is not correctly diagnosed. Secondly, the labour cost for a "25 point check" of $90 is a joke. It's just a visual check of the undercariage and other things which won't take more than 10 min. The two other Peugeot / Citroen specialist workshops would even check aircon gas and compressor oil as part of the their service. Thirdly, you quoted more than $1000 to replace the stabilizer link arm and ball joint. The same thing (including wheel alignment) can be done for less than $300.
And there was no car wash or tyre shine. At the price you charge, I can go to Cycle and Carriage. I got a free car wash when I changed a $10 light bulb. What can BCC offer?

Wow! What you mentioned is truth then is absolutely madness.

The whole process took half a day. I went back to wait at the workshop, and I only saw the three mechanics squatting by the side and smoking and idling away for a good 30 min. One of them, a Malay chap (I believe) is slightly more experienced. He was showing the two other inxperienced mechanics (one from PRC and the other possibly from Myanmar) how to reset the service countdown function on my car. To be fair, the $90 labor included engine oil change (I brought my own oil) and an oil filter. But even then, $90 is ridiculous. Immediately, I felt a loss of confidence. On the plus side, he workshop is even cleaner than the Cycle and Carriage workshop. I think, workshop messiness is more normal - I am more comfortable with a messier workshop because to me, that indicates that more complicated work has been performed in the workshop (translating to more hands-on experience the had). Just take a look at Thomas's workshop. Parts sitting everywhere but they know exactly where what can be found
