Greetings everyone.
I'm very new to this community and also new to Citroen as a label. I went to the showroom last Thursday and was very impressed with the C5. Went down to the showroom on Saturday and bought one. So guess I'm part of the family now.. :O) I have a question regarding the rim. I saw in the brochure the car wearing 19" rim. To be honest, I like that rim very much but the sale rep advised me not to because it is oversize for the C5. Can anyone comment on that or is there any of you fitted with the 19"? Cheers!! |

hello C me,
welcome to the family, and thank you for introducing yourself :-) i believe somewhere on these threads, there is one that discusses the 19-inch rims on a C5, although i have not been able to find it (i believe at least one local owner has the rims on his car). apart from dtech's comment about the weight, i am thinking also in terms of the effect the 19's would have on the ride. if you do like it, though, do consider specifying it :-) it is your car, after all :-)

Hi bro dtech and voyager, thank you so much for the information. After reading bro dtech's links and bro voyager's point on the suspension profile, I decided to stick to the factory 18".
Cheers! :0) |

The 19 looks nice n unique but if i were going to fit 19 i would look for a lightweight rim to ensure leas unspung mass on four corners
It will wear out suspension components much faster and work the hydropneumatics very hard |

If the pre-fb version C5 can pull it with the 19" rims, I am sure the 1.6 version should have no problem. I was actually quite smitten with the rims but the cost really puts me off.
The C5 is also big in dimensionally. So don't think the rims are oversize. The brochure won't put something that is unfit for the car. |

Yap the 19" rims is nice, till now i still miss my c5 and the rims. Total cost for rims and tyres is around 6k. Base on my ex 2.0 c5 confort i can reach milelage of ard 9.2 to 9.6km/l with the rims
