This suspension thing can cause a knocking sound when turning over uneven road as well or when moving off from stationary?
That's lower control arm bushing. The rubber is soft, it last about 40-50k km.

It could also be the link rod worn out. Try replacing the link rod 1st. It quite cheap if you replace at thomas.

Thomas explaination is that due to wear and tear, water got into the suspension during rainy days and therefore the squeezey noise, no hot and dry day, all these water dry up and therefore no squeezy noise. I want to save $$$ so decide to endure the noise. This noise will not have any safety issue.

Fyi pls

Don't think there is fix to it other than replacing parts.

Best is to invest in a pressure washer to wash out all the particles stuck in the fittings.

Btw has any Bros tried out the latest facelift 508 and 1.6 Opel insignia?

The strange thing is every time when there is rain it will have this loud squeaking sounds when going over humps
But whenever after I went for a car wash, there is no squeaking sounds instead. I dont quite understand this, since both circumstances had made the front absorber wet.

If you are comparing suspension setup.....the clear winner is C5.

The bushings worn off, leaving gaps where water and debris to be trapped in there. So avoid driving over puddles of water. This is one of the design fault, but money can solve the problem.

hello chinablue,

facelift or no facelift, the 508 would never beat the C5.

this is because when the two originally came out, the 508 had (and still has) struts in its suspension, with the top models (in Europe) with double wishbones.

the C5 had double wishbones regardless of model.

so, straightaway that meant better wheel control.

further,

the C5 was launched with regular springs in its lower models and with hydropneumatic springs at the high end.

so, that meant better cushioning and damping.

if you follow the argument, the top model 508 would only be comparable with the base model C5 (in terms of suspension).

as auto_emocion says, no comparison at all.
