Default The DS5 is in town?

Kenneth, do share some details. I like to know what specs are available in our market, and of course, what's the ROM price?

hello Colin (and everyone :-) ),

at current (pre-restricted-numbers) COE prices, the indicative pricing for the sole variant (the 6-speed auto, petrol) is about $180000.

i know it sounds corny, but i haven't asked details because i'm not ready to order yet.

the trim level is roughly equivalent to the Sport Chic trim that is available in France.

there are no details yet on the trim levels pertaining to the diesels or to the availability of the diesel-hybrid.

i think - should a buyer be ready - they would be ready to try to secure a COE, but i haven't asked about delivery and stuff like that.

hello DesTan,

the 1.6 THP 155 6-speed auto is the one that will be made for general availability;

if you are referring to the 200 PS 6-speed manual, that is likely to be possible on an indent basis.

Hi Kenneth

I am referring to the 1.6THP 6-speed auto same as the current C5 variant. It make more sense to own in our crazy COE system. If it is under cat B, the price of the car will be to high (for a Citroen made) in Singapore...potential buyer will consider other conti brands...like the new MB C class that came with 1.6 Turbo engine for around $185k.

What I am trying to say is, C&C should think of ways to compete with other conti brands if they are planning to bring in the DS5. It is definitely a very nice car, no doubt.

However, from a neutral buyer point of view, one would definitely opt to buy a more reputable brand if the price is on par.

Bringing in a cat A variant will help in selling the car...just like the C5.

one sample DS5 is in Singapore. My sales person told me if will be available later this year as C&C wants to monitor the reduction of Cat A COE effect and the carbon tax. Was told interior space is less than that of C5. Price base on current COE will be around $175K ball park.

People often over look omv, engine toque. further more, c180 come with a poor 5 speed gearbox. DS5 will not be on par with C5 pricing. DS line is meant to be premium line and DS4 pricing i already very close to C5 pricing.

hello DesTan,

the default engine (right now) for the DS5 in Singapore is the 1.6, just like with the C5 (i am sorry to have confused you).

it has a 9 cm shorter wheelbase than the C5 (thank you, theory_87, it's good to point this out).

the OMV (at current exchange rates) is around $35000 or so, i believe (i may be wrong).

theory_87 has brought up an excellent point.

using 'What Car' UK's dimensional tables:

the C5 rear legroom is 74 cm (i don't know how they calculate that, but as long a they standardize the method it's ok), and the DS5 is 66 cm (A4 71 cm, 3-series 73 cm, C-class 71 cm).

the C5 rear headroom is 89 cm, same as DS5 (A4 88 cm, 3-series 93 cm, C-class 90 cm).

the C5 front legroom is 109 cm, DS5 101 cm (A4 113 cm, 3-series 111 cm, C-class 113 cm).

the C5 front headroom is 93 cm, DS5 91 cm (note, the DS5 is 8 cm taller than the C5) (A4 89 cm, 3-series 95 cm, C-class 92 cm).

the C5 front cabin width is 147 cm, DS5 145 cm (A4 142 cm, 3-series 141 cm, C-class 141 cm).

the C5 rear cabin width is 137 cm, DS5 142 cm (A4 138 cm, 3-series 139 cm, C-class 140 cm).

C5 turning circle is 11.7 metres, DS5 is 11.2 metres (shorter wheelbase) (A4 11.4 metres, 3-series 11.3 metres, C-class 10.8 metres).

the C5 boot capacity is 439 litres, DS5 is 468 litres (A4 480 litres, 3-series 480 litres, C-class 475 litres).
