C4 ATF change

Thanks for all the suggestions! My past 4 rides were all Japanese but I had a Citroen BX16 before all those. That car gave it's fair share of issues but I am hoping that this one will be less fussy.

I will most likely be going to Antz cos it's near my place.

Looking forward to being a new Citroen owner!

Antz ATF - he will ask u to try an ATF called Ravenol and it will be cheaper than the original ATF. I suggest stick to original ATF.

For AL4 gearbox, try Carlube ATF-U (synthetic). Cheaper and beter than original atf. I am on this for several years for my C4.

Antz is more experience on peogeut then citroen beco a number of them was from autofrance. Then again, compare them with a lot of other workshop outside, they surely know more about citroen then those regular ones.

Although Carlube atf-u is not on spec list but I took the plunge. Transmission runs smoother and quieter. Changed oil at 20k km, oil still look very good. I also use it for my power steering....much lighter feel. It may sound unbelievable but it works for me.

Is Antz ok with customers bringing their own engine oil and atf?

Another suggestion to save money. The Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 oil sold in giant and fair price is approved for use in your C4 (the oil specification code is PSA B71 2296). You will need 3.5L only (the jug has 4L). Normally no need to top up oil for 10000km unless if there is leakage somewhere. So save it as back up.

Yes, has been using for the last few servicing, cheap and good. But make sure is the one from Europe and come with PSA B71 2296 compliance

It depends on batches. Sometimes I see Giant have made in Hong Kong but everything else identical, including the PSA B71 2296.
