hi daz3 :-)

a belated warm welcome to the community. in all sincerity.

the C4 (as a name, and as a bodystyle) has been around since 2004, it first came to Singapore in mid 2005, brought in by Advance Auto (the previous dealer).

at that time, it was the old 1.6 (naturally-aspirated) engine.

the turbocharged 1.6 (different engine block from the first-generation naturally-aspirated) accompanied the facelift, which arrived in Singapore earlier this year.

so, although the bodyshell has been around in Singapore since 2005, the engine itself is new :-)

it's a great car - my dad and i enjoyed driving it very much :-)

as for resale, you will take a very steep hit in the initial years of ownership, but in later years of ownership, there might be some cushioning effect because of the relatively higher OMV of the car compared to competitive Asian models.

please, please keep your questions coming :-)

sincerely,
ken

Hey daz3,
I agree with Voyager...and maybe pwgagt can share on his new C4 as well...

To be frank, most cars resale value will be bad esp for the 1st 2-3 yrs...even jap ones.

But then, one doesn't buy a car for resale value alone...although I'm sure many pragmatic Singaporeans do, or think they do.
Since, u've researched quite bit (I'm assuming this, cos u found this place)...then I think u're like me then. research here and there, test drive here and there, also thinking abt value for $ and resale value.
In the end, I have no regrets with my choice.
to be honest, in terms of value, the citroen is attractive. Do check out the OMV and the selling price.
Resale will most likely be not so good, as citroen isn't a v popular brand here. (but judging from the number of new owners recently, I think it's improving) :P

For tech bits and citroen knowledge, do ask Furry and Voyager.

As for me...I can only offer moral support! ;D

see the resale value for yourself.
